Potential top draft pick Luka Doncic told reporters that he hasn’t decided if he will make the leap from Europe to the NBA next season.
“Ι’m not sure if these are the last two games [in Europe],” Doncic said at a news conference for the EuroLeague Final Four. “We have yet to make this decision. Perhaps after the season.”
Doncic, 19, plays for Real Madrid, and he is the No. 2 overall prospect available in the 2018 NBA draft, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. Doncic is expected to be among the top three picks in next month’s draft.
A point guard, Doncic is considered one of the top players in Europe. He is a two-time EuroLeague rising star winner (2017, 2018).
Alongside Goran Dragic and newly hired Phoenix Suns coach Igor Kokoskov, Doncic helped lead Slovenia to its first EuroBasket gold medal in 2017, highlighted by victories over Kristaps Porzingis and Latvia and Marc Gasol and Spain.
