Man Utd manager Mourinho avoids FA punishment

The win over Newcastle ended a run of four games without a win for Jose Mourinho’s team

But BBC Sport understands United produced a strong defence in its appeal and feel vindicated by the outcome.

The Portuguese faced a possible touchline ban if found guilty.
